In the world of entertainment, an early start can often pave the way for a remarkable career. Nikita, a four-year-old sensation, is now making her mark on the popular Australian TV show, Neighbours, currently airing on Channel 10. For many aspiring young actors, this opportunity is nothing short of a dream come true. And while Nikita may be just starting her journey, the show has a history of launching the careers of world-famous actors, such as Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth and Russel Crowe. We recently had the chance to sit down with Nikita’s mum Chandelle to get a glimpse into this extraordinary experience.

First of all congratulations on Nikita scoring a role on Neighbours. That must’ve been incredibly exciting. How did she react when she found out about the news?

When Nikita found out she was very excited about the news. However, because she is so young, I feel as though she didn’t understand the full extent of this amazing opportunity. I’m sure she will look back when she’s older and be very proud of herself. 

Tell us a little bit about Nikita and what made her want to go into child modelling/acting.

I signed Nikita up to Bettina Management as a baby because she had such a happy and bubbly personality. Nikita was very photogenic and loved being around other people. I thought she would be perfect for catalogues. As Nikita grew, she started showing interest in TV shows, she mentioned that she would like to ‘do what they do’ She also has a few idols that she looks up to.

How has the experience been working on the set of Neighbours?

Nikita’s experience working on the set of Neighbours has been amazing. The cast, crew and her chaperones have gone above and beyond to make Nikita feel welcome. She has grown attached to a lot of people at Neighbours and considers them friends. Through Nikita’s eyes, it’s not “work” to her but it’s about having fun and playing with friends. She loves getting dressed in new costumes and visiting hair and make-up. She also enjoys seeing new sets and locations.

What has been the most challenging part of embarking on this journey so far?

It would have to be juggling family, activities, and commitments. But seeing how happy Nikita is, it’s worth the juggle.

How has your experience with Bettina Management been so far?

Bettina Management has been instrumental in making this opportunity a reality by putting her forward for the role. Since Nikita accepted the role, Bettina Management has been helping us through every step of the way.

As a parent what are the steps you take to support Nikita’s journey in modelling and acting? What is Nikita’s dream job in the industry?

The first step was to sign her up with an agency. I chose Bettina Management due to the positive reviews I had heard. Then it was down to updating her profile, going for updated profile headshots and being patient. At such a young age Nikita is doing her dream job!

For parents who may be considering entering their child into the entertainment industry, do you have any valuable advice or insights to offer based on Nikita’s experiences?

If you feel your child would enjoy and benefit from working in the entertainment industry, definitely consider it. The only thing to be aware of is getting work is not guaranteed. Nikita had been signed up for quite a few years before finally landing her dream job.
